The Shepherd’s Men raise funds and awareness for the SHARE Military Initiative at Shepherd Center in Atlanta. This comprehensive rehabilitation program focuses on assessment and treatment for military veterans who have sustained a mild-to-moderate Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) as a result of post-9/11 conflicts.

This year, members of Shepherd’s Men will visit the following cities as part of their cross-country run:
May 19– New York Citykick-off at Freedom Tower I where, they will climb 180 flights of stairs to the top of the 104-story building
- May 21 – Groton, CT
- May 22 – New York City
- May 23 – Washington D.C.
- May 24 – Johnson City, TN
- May 25 – Nashville, TN
- May 26 – Athens, GA
- May 27 – Atlanta, GA as they culminate their run at Shepherd Center
Anyone interested in showing their support by running, no matter the distance, alongside the Shepherd’s Men is encouraged to join their journey.
“We run to remind our veterans that they’re not alone and have a support system standing beside them every step of the way,” said Shepherd’s Men co-founder and 2017 Congressional Medal of Honor Foundation Citizen Heroes Award recipient Travis Ellis. “We believe that raising awareness of the silent injuries of war is essential so that treatment can be offered, at no cost, to any veteran in need. Our veterans made the ultimate sacrifice to defend our way of life, and we run to honor their legacy and service as we can’t put into words how much their service means to us.”
The Shepherd’s Men goal for 2019 is to raise more than $1.2 million, enough to fully fund the SHARE Military Initiative’s annual operating budget.
